The organisms which are responsible for absorbing carbon from the atmosphere is the trees and plants.

Plants are known as predominant photosynthetic eukaryotes which are mainly multicellular. They are found in the kingdom Plantae. Plants were treated as of the two kingdoms which included all living things that were not animals.

Fungi and algae were treated as plants. Green plants have cell walls which contain cellulose. They get their energy from the sun via the process of photosynthesis.
