13=1/6y+2x , how do I solve for y?

Sagot :

Like always you want x on one side and y on the other side.
Equation:
13=1/6y+2x (First, you want to subtract 2x on both sides)
-2x          -2x
-2x+13=1/6y   (Now you want to divide by 1/6 or 6 *I don't think it matters but if I were you I would divided by 1/6* b/c you want y alone) :D

-2x+13=1/6y
      1/6
-12+77.9(repeating)=y
When i divided 13 with 1/6 I got 77.9999984 and I have no clue how I got that part of the answer. If I were you I would ask the teacher what to do?

I really do this help you out even a little bit :D
