if a movie theater has 500 chairs and 3/4 have people sitting in them how many seats are filled

Sagot :

375 chairs
500 (.75) = 375

500/5= 100. Get it to 100 and the fractions are less of a problem.
3/4 of 100 is 75. Now multiply 75 by 5, and you get 375.
375 of the chairs have people in them
