in what ways can the 1920s be considered both the best of times and worst of times?

Sagot :

Gibbs
The 1920s are considered both the best and worst of times because of the drastic changes that occurred during this time period that had different impacts on certain segments of society in comparison to others. At this time women were given the right to vote, there was a period of peace in the United States following WWI, and there was also a period of large economic growth and development. These factors can be seen as contributing to a positive atmosphere within the time period. In addition at the time alcohol was outlawed through prohibition which led to a rise of organized crime which was not a positive aspect of the time period. In addition in the 1920s there were massive waves of immigrants to the United States who faced a harsh and difficult reality of trying to make a life in the U.S. Depending on which segment of society you were a part of at this time there is a different perspective on whether they were the best or worst of times.
