To Kill A Mockingbird Chapter 20
Mayella has committed crimes against Tom and against the state (false accusation, lying under oath, even "murder" of an innocent man) because she is ashamed of breaking a "code" and "tempting a Negro." What's the difference between a law and a code? In your opinion, which is more powerful?

Sagot :

Jester
I would probably say code, due to the fact that code goes against everything something that cannot be broken, definitely more stable than the law as people break laws. Not codes.
