Sean is helping his dad build a tiled walkway in their backyard. The walkway will be 60 feet long and 2 feet wide. The local hardware store sells tiles which are 2 by 2 feet and come in boxes of 6.

The answer is 5 boxes. First we have to do 60 x 2 to find out the area of the walkway (120 ft). Then since the tiles are 2 by 2 feet and come in 6 boxes we do, 2 x 2 to find the area of 1 tile,which is 4 ft, then we multiply that by 6 to find out the total amount of tiles which is 24.
