Sagot :
The African grasslands are better known as African Savanna. The African savanna covers almost half of the African continent, which is about 5 million square miles. Flora wise, they are tropical grasslands dotted with trees, thornbushes and many kinds of different plants - such as the whistling thorn, or the elephant grass. Some trees have deep roots to reach down to water, others thick fire resistant bark and trunks that can store water. Around 2 million plant eating mammals live in the savanna - 45 species of mammals, 55 species of acacia, and around 500 species of birds. One interesting fact about African savannas is that they host the worlds largest diverse population of hoofed animals, such as: antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalo's, and wildebeests. Due to this, predators that prey on them are also residing here - like the African lion or cheetah.
