Break up 36 into 30 and six. Then you make 30 in 4 rows and then 6 into four rows. Then you add both answeres wich would be 144. You can also estimate and change the 36 to a 35 and change the 4 to a five which would make it easier because you know your basic facts which are 5 x7 equals thirty five.But just use the top answer fo now.
