Sagot :
He was exiled twice. After the French Revolution, there was fear and instability in the country of France. So Napoleon as a rising Artillery commander, took favor of the country with the army by defeating numerous countries that attacked France during the Revolution. Afterwards, he seized control and named himself Emperor of France. With that, he built up the army and attacked Europe, defeating country after country but Britain remained (same scenario that Hitler faced later). He sent the combined Spanish/French fleet against Britain, who had for a long time, had one of the largest navies. It was a battle that choose the fate of history. Under the British commander (forgot his name), the British with their small but manoeuvrable ships defeated the combined powerful frigate/galleon Spanish/French ships. So after the defeat, Napolean turned his attention to Russia (like Hitler) and attacked the country with 150,00-300,000 troops but Russia’s winter helped destroy over half the army. With the army in disrepair, the combined armies of Europe attacked Napoleons army, defeating it. They then exiled him to the island of Elba but he still had some loyal soldiers so he built his popularity and escaped the Island and once again formed an army. The countries of Europe once again banded together for one of the Biggest battles of the time. The battle of Waterloo was its name. Once he was defeated, he was exiled, under guard to the Island of St. Helena.
