Dear Chibuike,

              It was with great sadness that I received the shocking news of the demise of the Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona. When I was informed of his death, by Zara, I quickly told him that if the news is true, then the god of soccer has truly departed. That explains the manner in which I have idolized Maradona in my heart.

           I remember with nostalgia, the stories my father told me about the days in which Diego Maradona played soccer for the Argentine national team. Personally, i enjoyed watching the replays of some of those matches sometimes shown on Channels television.

        I was moved to tears while watching an edition of Sports Today on Channels Television dedicated to the legacy of Diego Maradona in Argentine football.

       As young footballers, we should be inspired by his legacy to do our best to end up as legends of the sport. I hope to see you at the end of professional league season.
