Sagot :
Mandela's determination to create peaceful paths was what clearly set him apart from other political leaders in his time. Mandela wished for a better world where peace was evident. This wish became due to his tough upbringing, where he constant racism and segregation as a child. Although, Mandela certainly felt anger towards the issue, he also knew that he needed to look stronger and make the others ashamed of their actions. Mandela fought for black rights but he did it in a smart and passionate way where reconciliation and peace lead the way. Mandela also knew that in order to move forward, he needed to forgive. Mandela had also been baptized as a child and grew up with a mother who was heavily religious so this would have influenced his attitude towards the situation. Christians forgive, love, and learn so this is what motivated Mandela to do the same.
(His motivation was to find peace in the end and that involves reconciliation. He was a good man and wanted the others to learn.)
Hope this helps :)
