If Four goats and two sheep’s cost Rs.2500, while six goats and five sheep’s cost Rs.6000. Find

the cost of one goat and one sheep separately

Sagot :

Answer: Cost of one goat = Rs 62.50  and Cost of one sheep Rs 1125.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x = Cost of one goat and y= Cost of one sheep.

As per given,

4x+2y= 2500   (i)

6x+5y= 6000 (ii)

Multiply (i) by 3 , we get

12x + 6y = 7500      (iii)

Multiply (ii) by 2 , we get

12 x + 10y = 12000   (iv)

Eliminate (iii) from (iv)

10y- 6y = 12000 - 7500

⇒ 4y = 4500

⇒ y = 1125

Put y =1125 in (i)

4x+2(1125)= 2500

⇒ 4x+2250= 2500

⇒ 4x =2500-2250

⇒ 4x =250

⇒  x= 62.50

Hence, Cost of one goat = Rs 62.50  and Cost of one sheep Rs 1125.
