The main role of a pioneer woman is to be a house wife. All their life, they are within the cabin doing countless amount chores. They do everything that they particularly considered work.  

As a pioneer woman on the frontier, her job is to serve her partner/husband and their whole family. The job of a pioneer woman is very important in the frontier actually. After all, in the early ages of a pioneer woman, they were to be taught independency.

In the early ages of a pioneer women or child, they were to be taught responsibility and independency. I think that because in a article written by ND Studies said, "By the time a child reached the age of 10, he or she was usually considered capable of taking on many adult responsibilities." It was also said to be common for a 10 year old to drive horses and work with farm machines. In my opinion, as a child of 10 is already handling so much work is enough. But they don't stop. Their work is to be increased as they got older.  

A pioneer woman's purpose was to serve as a house keepers, wife, and a mother, etc. The woman is to be responsible for most chores around the cabin. Including milking the cows (if they were rich enough to own one), tend the garden, crops, making quilts, clothes, soap, etc. all from scratch. I wonder as for what they do, how much do they have or get?

Answer is, no. They don't get much for what they are to do. Clothes of older child are to be pass down many times in a family. Any possible rips, scratches, etc. are to be mended or resewed by the girls of the house. So if you were the smallest child of the family, your clothes' is to be worn a few times already. They don't get really anything in return for their hard work, only the feeling of importance. Honesty, I feel a bit spoiled compared to the pioneer children.  

I believe that the hardest job in the frontiers is the pioneer woman's. They do so much around the cabins from a young age, to older, but get so much less as a return. I believed they might have a even harder life than most woman's before the 1800s.
