How did Jim Crow Laws in Mississippi deny African Americans Constitutional rights were supposed to be afforded to all Americans? Explain.

The first ten amendments to the Constitution are part of the Bill of Rights. These rights guaranteed to all U.S. citizens. Read the First Amendment to the Constitution below.

Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

uhh I want to help you but I haven't learn this yet

Explanation:

Jim Crow laws in Mississippi denied African Americans rights because they were based off of white supremacy. They supported and encouraged segregation on buses, water fountains, restrooms, cemeteries and schools. This means that black people couldn’t use the same restrooms or go to the same schools as white peoples. The laws were there to tell black people that they we lesser than others. I hope this helps!!

P.S This response is for educational purposes only, I do not believe in or condone the Jim Crows Laws.
