Suppose that you are in charge of selling hamburgers for your school fundraiser. You are selling hamburgers in your local community.
Which tray/plate should you use for the hamburgers?
How many hamburgers should you sell?
How many buns and meat patties should you buy to sell?
A styrofoam plate comes in packages of 14.
A sheet iron tray comes in packages of 12.
Buns are sold in packages of 12.
Meat patties are sold in packages of 18.
The school is counting on you to sell between 10-80 hamburgers.
You don't want any leftovers of anything.

I don't understand this question, can someone lend a hand?

Answer:

(I have first answered the 2nd question first to find out how many Iron trays I actually need)

A2-(This is kinda tricky)

If you want to make a hamburger you would want to have 2 buns and 1 patty.

So our equation will be-

x/18=2

(Also I am buying 18 patties)

(And the 2 is twice the patties I have)

x=18x2

x=36

And now to figure out how many packages (each of 12) I need to have to make Hamburgers without having any leftovers

So,

36/12

=3

Therefore I would need 3 packages of Buns

A1-The number of Sheet Iron needed,

=> Number of Sheet Iron Tray=Number of Patties Bought

= 12x=36

= x=36/12

= x=3

Therefore you would need 3 packages of Iron trays

This question actually has different answers to it this is just an example of one of its answers.
