In 1963, and to this day, many people believe that Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was the greatest speech of the nineteenth century, if not the greatest speech ever given. Notice how Dr. King begins what many believe is the greatest speech of the twentieth century as Lincoln did by setting the speech in time.
