Explanation:
On April 4, 1968, a preacher, father, equality marcher, and black activist, was shot on the balcony of his apartment at the Lorraine Motel, in Memphis Tenn. by a man named James Earl Ray. This day would go down in history as the day a great man died at the hands of an issue that he had been fighting since the day he realized the world: racism. This man was named Martin Luther King Jr., and was, and is, the most celebrated and well-known man in history. Martin (born Michael) was a man of peace since the beginning. When he grew up, he followed in his father's footsteps and because a preacher, but this didn't last long, what he saw outside of the church was something he knew he had lived with for long enough, segregated America. His entire life's work is what brought him up, and what brought him down. "Free at last, free at last, thank god, oh lord, I am free at last." -Martin Luther King Jr.
