Where as, soft engineering management is a more natural approach to managing flooding such as flood plain zoning. This is good because it gives people time to protect their properties with sand bags which means many personal possessions can be saved which results in fewer insurance claims. However some people may not be able to access the warnings so flash floods would make the warning ineffective and they do not prevent flooding from happening it just gives people a warning that a flood is going to happen.
Overall I strongly agree that hard engineering is best because of these points stated above which will be a long term advantage.
