Thomas Tallis (1505 – 1575): An English composer. He composed for many monarchs including Henry VIII, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth granted him a 21-year monopoly on polyphonic music. One of his most famous works is “Spem In Alium”.
