Why did the Articles of confederation fail?

Sagot :

1) all states had to approve to make a final decision, this process took forever and caused big decisions to not be done or acted in immediately.
2) the government was designed to be super weak
3) congress needed 9 of 13 states to pass any laws
4) central government couldn’t collect taxes to fund it’s operations
5) states had their own moneh systems. money wasn’t all the same- meaning each state had a different currency and it was almost impossible to trade.
6) states were able to conduct their own foreign policies, meaning the confederation government didn’t have the physical ability to enforce any laws.
