The position could end up wrong and ruin the whole picture

Explanation:

Question:

why does the position posing of the person you are drawing or photographing matter?

Answer:

The position of the pose of a person you are drawing/photographing matters because, (example) lets say you are drawing someone, and they are posing (facing) to your left, so you draw their head facing the left, but then you think; " Why does the position matter? He'll/She'll/other  look okay with his body drawn another position.". So, you draw their body in another position. Of course, you can make it however you like, but, think about the person that has been posing for a long time for you to draw/take a photo of them and see that you made them like that. How would they feel? It is also important because it is a portrait of someone, and that is not how you draw a portrait of someone at all.
