Describe the difference in crude protein and digestible protein. Why is there a difference?

Sagot :

Answer: Crude Protein- Crude protein, sometimes called total protein, is estimated from measuring the total nitrogen content of milk by Kjeldahl analysis. It is the total amount of Nitrogen present in the sample including(Non Protein Nitrogen and Protein Nitrogen).

True Protein- True protein reflects only the nitrogen associated with protein and does not include the nitrogen from non-protein sources.

The Kjeldahl method therefore actually measures what is termed total protein. Total protein is the nitrogen in milk multiplied by 6.38. The true protein in milk is the total nitrogen minus the NPN, then multi- plied by 6.38.

Hope it helps..✨
