why does following American traditions, having a strong sense of nationality, and partaking in American customs and culture make and American an American.


(Jeez, this is such a stup'id question. My English teacher hats my scrawny guts, I swear!)
Also, please answer with just whatever you think. I doesn't have to be textbook or whatever, just why YOU think that junk makes Americans Americans.
(I'm not at all patriotic, clearly. lol)

I think it makes you an American because you are following something that has been happening for years and years before you. It’s something that is specific to your heritage. Thanksgiving for example is celebrated in only America and done every year making it an American tradition.
