They only see movement and go for the small movements or stuff that seems to them like food. Now, when people litter, the plastic goes into lakes, rivers, ocean beaches, and other places. Usually, this trash goes to lakes and rivers. This is called Pollution. Birds live mostly in trees and fish live underwater. Fish will think plastic and trash is food and will start to eat it the plastic soon makes the fish chock and will not survive bird, however will go from time to time to drink the water. Now birds have good eyesight and 99% will not die but somethings smaller birds will chock on the small pieces
