Germany was divided after WWII because they were divided into four occupied Zones, Great Britain, France, Us, and The Soviet Union everyone was under a different country’s plan and it completely divided the country. Germany lost the second world war and German territories were controlled by the Allies' power and they divided Germany into four-zone. America, Britain, and France controlled two-thirds parts and it was called West Germany, and the remaining part was controlled by the Soviet Union called East Germany.
