--> RESPIRATION: Plants and animals respire all the time to obtain energy. During this process, sugar are broken down to liberate carbondioxide and water as wastes. Thus this accomplishes the movement of carbon from living organisms back into the atmosphere.
--> DECOMPOSITION: This is a process in carbon cycle where decomposers feed on the dead and decaying organisms and their excreta and bring about their decomposition. They have enzymes that break down organic compounds into simple inorganic compounds. Although inorganic compounds (carbondioxide) are released during decay, decomposers absorb these compounds for their own use. When decomposers doe, othe decomposers feed on them thereby accomplishing the movement of carbon between different organisms due to feeding.
