In the kitchen, five young chefs prepare the right amounts of each ingredient. They are making creamy potato and zucchini soup. Chef Laura Ryssdal reads the next step and gives orders to the students. Ryssdal is also a program leader with the youth group. Following her instructions, the students shred zucchini and peel potatoes. Then, they measure out two teaspoons of olive oil. Finally, they add a dash of salt and pepper. Smiles can be seen all around as the kids prepare the soup.
