Also, in the Cold War the United States and Russia were trying to do things subtly so that another global war wouldn’t break out. In the War on Terror, the United States tried to stop oppressive groups with force. The role of the United States in world politics has changed since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It has worked to provide influence and support in countries without directly involving our military troops. They use tactics like humanitarian aid and diplomacy instead of military tactics.
