Read this letter that an exchange student writes to his international student officer about his achievements during his exchange year in a Latin American country, and then write a few sentences in Spanish summarizing the letter.

Saludos cordiales,

Jason Smith

San José, July 24, 2013

Dear Mr. Luis Andrade:
I am writing you this letter to inform you that I have successfully completed my exchange program in San José, Costa Rica.
This year I not only improved my Spanish but also learned a lot about the Costa Rican culture. An important aspect of the experience was that I met some wonderful people who helped me overcome all the obstacles that I encountered in my path when it comes to my adaptation to the host country.

During my time here, I volunteered at an animal shelter. This shelter welcomes stray and abandoned dogs. My host family adopted a dog, whose name is Coco.

I also taught English in a low-income school. My students were very intelligent children who were excited to learn a new language. Even though I was only their teacher for a few months, I hope I have brought something positive to their lives.

At the end of this year I can say that the keys to success are perseverance and perseverance. I am very happy to have participated in this exchange program and I thank you very much for your support and patronage.

Best regards,
Jason Smith
