Prophecy is the act of relaying a message from God or a divine being through priests. And based on the messages, kings and leaders, in particular, would go on with any plan they have devised.

- Another example of a prophecy is when Prophet Nathan warned King David that because of his sinful acts, God will turn his his son born of the woman he committed adultery with will die, which happened in (2 Samuel 12).
Other instances can be asking God for guidance when attacking their enemies, or consulting God whether they must go on with their plan. But in all of their actions, the kings of Israel would consult the prophets about what God thinks.
