Is this a true or false?
Actually, outside of Europe, other civilizations were flourishing and having golden ages while Western Civilization struggled to regain stability after the fall of Rome many centuries before, struggling with war, poverty, and disease. This is why these are called the Dark Ages for Europe. Outside of Europe, the Chinese flourished, particularly in arts and sciences and the Mayas, Aztecs and Incas flourished artistically as well. Art in the Middle Ages Europe was not quite "priceless" but there are almost no known artists because artists would never sign their work. This began to change as Europe first saw the classic period and eventually the Renaissance started in Italy from around 1300-1600 which brought a new abundance and appreciation for art that was lost during the Middle Ages.
