Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear, colourless liquid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. While the primary function of CSF is to cushion the brain within the skull and serve as a shock absorber for the central nervous system. The CSF is mainly produced by the choroid plexus, but also by the ependymal lining cells of the brain’s ventricular system. CSF is produced mainly by a structure called the choroid plexus in the lateral, third and fourth ventricles.
While Pericardial fluid is the serous fluid secreted by the serous layer of the pericardium into the pericardial cavity. The pericardium consists of two layers, an outer fibrous layer and the inner serous layer.
