Federalism can help a government be more democratic and responsive to people because by diving the authority, it gives the opportunity to each local and state governments to focus on the specific needs of the population located in a determined area, and allows the federal government to focus on the needs of the whole country. It also helps democracy by adding diversification to the government, and minorities are represented in local governments.
