Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Use of Chemical Fertilizers
We are aware that technical development introduced in agriculture has helped a lot in improving the productivity and also help farmers. But it is observed that things has been overdone and we are facing the repercussions today.
Chemical fertilizers have acted as a boon initially but their excessive use has led to a disastrous result on agricultural produce. Such usage has led to soil erosion, immunity of pests leading to more usage which has led to a vicious cycle, poor quality produce, water contamination due to excess nitrogen usage etc. It is a health hazard too when not used in proper balanced quantities.
The need of the hour is to resort to natural products like organic fertilizers. They might work slower than the chemical fertilizers but they have a positive permanent impact on the soil texture in the long run, improve the water retaining capacity of the soil, thus regaining the fertility of the soil and also preventing soil erosion.
The farmers also need to be given enough training to understand the functions well to be encouraged to use organic fertilizers and also trained for proper usage of the same.
I hope my efforts to reach out to you will reap rewards to benefit everyone.
Yours sincerely
