How would you to solve this equation by showing all your work and answer for my math teacher to correct 5-6k=8

Sagot :

AL2006

Here are the steps.  You shouldn't have any trouble
writing down the work and finding the solution.

#1).  Write the equation.    5 - 6k = 8

#2).  Add  6k  to each side of the equation.

#3).  Subtract  8  from each side.

#4).  Divide each side by  6 .

At this point, the solution jumps out at you.
If you don't get  -1/2 , go through it again.

It's more important for your math teacher to correct your work,
not mine.  I finished middle school in 1955, and now I'm e-mailing
with the daughter of my 9th grade Algebra teacher, who is a very
successful lawyer back in my home town.

5-6k=8
-6k=3 (i subtracted 5 from both sides)

k= -1/2 ( i divided by -6 to both sides)
