However, Mr. Lacey couldn't drive to the dog pound so he ended up letting the dog sleep and stay there until he was able to take him to the pound. When the weather got better and her father actually took the dog he realized that the conditions of the pound were terrible. In the text it states, “Worst looking place I’ve ever seen.
