Condensed Milk is a short story by Russian author Varlam Shalamov (1907-1982). It was written based on the author's experience as a prisoner at a Gulag, a forced-labor camp.

In "Considered Milk" we meet a group of prisoners who have no perspective on life because of the abuse they suffer in prison. The protagonist is very sad and hopeless, but the expectation of running away from the place begins to change his personality.
