Zeus is a god from Greek mythology, commonly known as the ruler of the Olympians, whom were major deities that the ancient Greeks believed in. Zeus is the son of Cronus and Rhea, and is most famous for infidelity to his sister, and wife, Hera. When young Zeus was placed into hiding in a cave on the Cretan Mount Ida. He was raised by nymphs there, also meeting his first wife Metis. Metis was the one who had advised Zeus to Pretend to be the Olympian cup bearer, thus being able to trick his father into drinking poisoned wine. Cronus (Zeus' father) had thrown up so much do to the poison that he disgorged Zeus' siblings. Their second birth, made Zeus who was the youngest, now the oldest brother amongst the siblings. after this Zeus' siblings acknowledged his authority, and helped by the one eyed Cyclopes and the hundred handed Hecatoncheires whom Zeus had freed from imprisonment, they overthrew Cronus and the Titans during a war that lasted a decades time known as the Titanomachy. He and his brothers than decided to share the world between themselves. Poseidon getting the sea, Hades getting the underworld, and Zeus obtaining the sky. Zeus was soon crowned ruler of all gods and men, and is now universally referred to as Father. Zeus was quite a significant part of the culture because not only was he a god amongst men, he was also the god of gods. He freed Cyclopses, overthrew his father, and became the god to rule all gods. he showed great wit and leadership and it is understandable how he is so well known and important to Greek culture.
