Forum - Siesta/Descanso ( Moderated )
In Spain, there is something called “siesta” or “descanso". It is a period in the afternoon during which people go home to enjoy a leisurely lunch with their families. School children are often sent home for lunch and many businesses shut down. After a couple of hours, schools reconvene and businesses reopen. What do you think of this practice? Why do you think it is done? How do you think this would affect school, sports, and other activities?

Your response should be 3-5 sentences long and show that you’ve thought about the topic/question at hand. Please be aware we are looking for YOUR PERSONAL OPINION and there is not a single “correct answer.”

Answer:

I think this practice is very important in our daily performance, especially for the ones who work really hard. We all need a break in our day to eat and regain our energy, or just simply to socialize a bit. I think it's done as a break time, so that a school day or work day isn't as overwhelming.
