Two ways the contributions of the western and eastern hemispheres have been similar are the contributions in the field of technology and the contributions in the field of philosophy.

The western hemisphere comprises all countries located in the western region of the planet, this includes the Americas and the western part of Europe and Africa. On the other hand, the eastern hemisphere includes countries located in the west of Europe and Africa and all countries located in Asia and Oceania.

Historically, the western and eastern are culturally different and because of this, their contributions are often different. However, there are two fields in which contributions have been similar:
