d) 6

2) In the first hour of an experiment, the temperature of a liquid was 4.5°C. Then the temperature was raised by 0.25°C every hour after that.

In what hour was the temperature of the liquid equal to 22.25°C?

b) Hour 70
c) Hour 71
d) Hour 72

Sagot :

The first one is D because it's being multiplied by 6 each time. The pattern of negative and positive numbers doesn't occur so any negative numbers are taken out and if it was multiplied by 1/6 the denominator would be getting larger each time it was multiplied.

The second one is C, 71 multiplied by .25 equals 17.75. Which is the difference between 22.25 and 4.5.
