Answer:
In my own personal opinion, Emily Dickinson's poetry has a considerable number of of characteristics that make it easy for today's students to relate to the theme. One of these characteristics that is most prominent, however, is the confusion around who Dickinson was as a person. She had a great amount of confusion and questioning of her identity. She was also confused about the person she wanted to be in the future, which are both themes that any teenager or high school student would relate to heavily. Many people in their teenage years have reached a point in their life in which they question who they are and who they want to become, especially with all of the pressure for them to pick a college, job, or career that they will be expected to keep up for the rest of their lives. Many teenagers go through a lot of stress and questioning because of this, and this is something that students would especially relate to in Dickinson's poems.
