To all of the Orthodontists out there hello. I have a question, I wear my rubber bands 24 hours a day. The only time I take them out is when I early brush my teeth, or play the flute ( if I have them in I can’t get the correct sound) . Why is my over bite not getting better? Is it because when I play the flute I move my jaw back and forth to make high notes and low notes? Is my jaw ( as it’s growing) getting confused on which direction to go? Please help me!! I I’m so lost right now and I really want answers because I don’t want to wear braces any longer then I need too! Thanks!

Answer:

Heya, I'm no orthodontist but I wore bands for 2-3 years so I'm here to help ya!

Explanation:

First off, you shouldn't be wearing your bands if you are eating take them out to brush your teeth, play the flute, eat, or discard them to get a new pair. Second, wear them when your orthodontist tells you too, if they tell you to wear them in the day then only wear it in the day and so on and so forth- you should be okay, braces take time, heck I had them on for almost three years.
