Find the area of the shape below

Find The Area Of The Shape Below class=

Sagot :

Answer:

Total Area = 235cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 ) we have our lengths 11 and 20 so we need to separate the into 2 shapes  Step 2)   Label and draw new shape 20-11 = 9  to show (Shape square  1) = measuring 9 *9 and   another  (Shape Rectangle 2) = 11* 14  Step 3) Show how you do the multiplication of Square shape 9* 9 = 81cm^2  and Area Rectangle 11 * 14 = 154 cm^2   Total Area = 81+154 = 235cm^2    You can if you like in table multiplication show 11*14 by adding a zero underneath the 14 = 140 +14 = 154 then add and show +81 = 235cm^2 It is always easier to retain a shape if subtracting to get a 2nd shape this way it saves time with subtraction and in my example only needed to subtract 20-11 = 9 then 9*9 = 81cm^2 to retain the 14 *11 = 154cm^2 area for the rectangle
