Today, in the 21st century, technology is far more advanced than it was in the 20th century and even the beginning of the 21st century. The internet is the new newspaper, and is where anyone can find the answer to just about any question they might have. Not only is the internet used for finding solutions to problems, it is also used for maintaining and even creating new social connections. As we know, social media is a large part of today's world, and it is great for learning about others and posting about your own life. According to Brian Dean, in July of 2021 the total of social media users has passed the astounding 4.48 billion mark, making 2010's 970 million users pale in comparison. As scary and unapproachable as the internet may seem to older generations, it is not much different in concept from yesterday's radio or televison for example. In conclusion, the internet is a perfect place to communicate with friends and strangers, stay entertained, and keep up with the world today. Therefor, teenagers should not be hassled for their use of the internet; though it doesn't hurt to get outside now and then.
