  • r + 10 = 3r
  • 2r = 10
  • r = 5 in

Now, find the distance x from the bottom of the cone to the base of the smallest ball, using same method as above:

  • (x + r)/r = (x + 2r + 10)/10
  • (x + 5)/5 = (x + 20)/10
  • 2(x + 5) = x + 20
  • 2x + 10 = x + 20
