Hydrosphere
Human contributions to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are warming the earth's surface - a process which is projected to increase evaporation of surface water and accelerate the hydrologic cycle. In turn, a warmer atmosphere can hold more water vapor.
Atmosphere
This process makes Earth much warmer than it would be without an atmosphere. The greenhouse effect is one of the things that makes Earth a comfortable place to live.
Cryosphere
By reflecting sunlight, ice and snow have a cooling effect on the climate. Removing the ice to leave darker land or ocean reduces this cooling and so amplifies climate change. Thawing permafrost releases significant amounts of greenhouse gases, causing further warming.
