Hello, my name is Maria. I am 9 years old and ever since I was in first grade,
I was severely bullied. I had trouble making friends and had trouble keeping the
friends I made
Starting in first grade. I was severely bullied. All the other students would
call me fat, say I had no friends, hit me, kick me, spread rumors and so much more.
I had no friends. It was like everyone was against me. I was depressed and felt
that there was no good in the world. I had one friend at the beginning of second
grade and no friends at the end
At the beginning of third grade, I made a couple new friends and met some
very encouraging and nice people. I was still bullied a little bit by the students from
my school, but my friends Karen, Jenny, and Joulia got me through it. They
encouraged me to ignore it and stand up for myself without saying hurtful things
back. Through the year, I was put in the same art class with one of the girls from
my elementary school, Madona, and some of her friends. They wouldn't leave me
alone, but Karen, Jenny, and Joulia always cheered me up and told me to keep my
head up
