Answer: The strength of Psychology is in its 100 plus years of research and study by some very bright minds. Sadly that same thing is also a weakness. Let me explain. The mind is incredibly complex. As fast as you think you know it there will be a twist in the tale to keep you guessing. We have plumbed the depths of the ocean but not the mind. There are still mysteries in Psychology which ought to be understood by know. Take for instance consciousness. Does anyone truly understand how or where consciousness arises. How about grammar? Where did you learn to construct a grammatically correct sentence, who taught you ? Then there's the greatest mystery of all, sleep. No one knows with certainty why we sleep or what really goes on when we're dreaming. These are just a few of the massive questions that still remain unresolved after a century of careful study. Perhaps that's why Psychology is fun because it still has many new frontiers to explore. The next big breakthrough might be just around the corner.
