  • In the passive voice, the subject of the sentence is NOT the performer of the action. Instead, it is the receiver of the action. The action is performed by the agent.
  • The structure of the passive voice is: subject + to be + past participle + agent.
  • Example: More food is bought around Christmas (by people).

With the information above in mind, we can see that each sentence has been properly categorized. The ones in which the subject performs the action are labeled "active voice", whereas the ones in which the subject receives the action are labeled "passive voice".
